Cross Country: Began the season with a fifth place finish in the 8k at the Covered Bridge Open with a time of 25:22.13… finished fourth in the 8k with a time of 23:48.0 at the FSU Open… earned a seventh place finish at the Joe Piane Invitational with a time of 23:36.7… set a new 8k personal best time of 23:13.1 with an 11th place finish at the FSU Pre-Nationals meet… won bronze at the ACC Championships with a time of 23:24.0… claimed All-Region honors at the NCAA South Regional meet with a second place finish and 10k personal best time of 29:20.50… earned All-American honors at the NCAA Championships with a 20th place finish through a 10k personal best time of 29:19.9.
Cross Country: Competed at the NCAA Championships and finished 123 in the men’s 10K with a time of 31:53.1… Finished 49th at the FSU Winter XC Classic in his FSU XC debut (24:26.1)…placed fourth and recorded a new personal-best 8k time at the FSU Winter XC Last Chance meet (23:50.0).
Indoor T& F: Competed in the 5,000M and finished 14th with a time of 14:20.19
Outdoor T&F: Took sixth place in the 5,000M at the ACC Championships with a time of 13:42.98 and went on the finish 15th at the NCAA East Regionals (13:49.75)… ran the 1,500M at the North Florida Invite and placed 4th at 3:42.46…was ninth at the Virginia Challenge in the 5,000m (13:51.15)…named to the All-ACC Academic Team
Junior (2019): Competed in five meets for the Broncos…finished first or second in all five races…led the Broncos with a top-10 finish at the Bill Dellinger Invitational (Sept. 29)…ran the fastest time for the Blue and Orange in the championship race at the Nuttycombe Invitational (Oct. 18)…secured second-team All-Mountain West honors with an eighth-place finish at the Mountain West Championships (Nov. 1)…grabbed a top-20 finish at the NCAA West Regional earning his first-career All-West Region accolade (Nov. 15)…finished second for the Broncos at the NCAA Championships (Nov. 23).
Sophomore (2018): A member of the top seven in all five meets he saw action in . . . Opened the season with a second place effort at the Sundodger Invitational, helping to lead a 1-7 Boise State sweep in 24:22.60 (Sept. 8) . . . Improved on his freshman showing at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, cracking the top 50 in 49th as a sophomore, running 24:01.2 (Sept. 28) . . . The Bronco’s top runner at the Mountain West Championships, improving from his 29th-place finish as a freshman, to fourth as a sophomore. Earned first-team all-conference honors in leading Boise State to the team title (Oct. 26) . . . Missed all-region honors by four spots as Boise State’s No. 4 runner, placing 29th (30:08.1) to help lead the Broncos to a third-place finish (Nov. 9) . . . The team’s fifth runner in 188th (31:29.3) at the NCAA National Championships (Nov. 17).
Freshman (2017): Impressive season for the lone true freshman to appear on the men’s side for Boise State . . . A scorer in four-out-of-five meets he competed in . . . The Mountain West Men’s Freshman of the Year after finishing in 29th (Oct. 27) . . . Boise State’s No. 3 runner in his first NCAA Championship experience, finishing as the 11th freshman in the field in 113th (Nov. 18) . . . Crucial No. 3 scorer for Boise State at the West Region Championships, running 30:16.6 for the first 10k of his career (Nov. 10) . . . No. 2 runner for Boise State at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in 83rd (Oct. 13) . . . Made his collegiate debut at the Greater Louisville Classic, finishing as the No. 5 Bronco in 24:39.57 for 8k (Sept. 30).
Salem High School: The 2016 Men’s Cross Country Oregon Sports Award recipient, Ahmed Muhumed, compiled quite the cross country resume while competing at West Salem HS. The highlights of his cross country prep accomplishments came in the form of back-to-back titles at the Oregon 6A Cross Country State Championships. He also took 13th at the Nike Northwest Regional and finished eighth at the Nike Oregon-Washington Border Clash. Muhumed’s best season on the track came in 2016 when he took third in both the 1,500m and 3,000m at the state championships, running career-best times (3:52.44 and 8:25.87) on both occasions. 1,500m – 3:52.44 | 3,000m – 8:25.87
